Parents, students, and family members are invited to meet our new middle school principal Mr. Ruben Morris and high school principal Dr. Julie Murgel, both of whom will start in their new roles for the 2014-15 school year. We will be holding a 'meet and greet' with light snacks and translation Thursday, April 24th, 5:30-6:30pm in the DCISM library. We are pleased to announce that the new DCISM principals for the 2014-15 school year have been selected. Julie Murgel, who comes to us with over 19 years of experience with DPS including the last 8 years at Cole Arts and Science Academy will take primary responsibility for the high school and Ruben Morris who is our current Principal Resident will assume primary responsibility for middle school. The leaders will also share responsibilities to ensure the needs of the school are being successfully met. The qualifications and experience of both candidates are aligned with the characteristics previously identified by DCISM staff, students, and parents at a number of meetings including the community forum held in March. We are very proud to announce that Jerell Nettles won 3rd place in the CHSAA State Wrestling Championships this past weekend! The Montbello Warriors team (in which Jerell plays) also came in as the top DPS school!
